Import issues
« on: May 17, 2005, 12:59:43 pm »

I've noticed this a couple of times on various builds (going back a fair way)
of 11, but don't do it often enough to bother mentioning it.

I decided yesterday to rename my music to media, so needed to reimport library.

On Certain media files as i import, Media Center actually starts
playing the media file for the brief time that it's actually importing the file (about 1/4 of a second if that).  I'm guessing it's on the Real Player files but don't quote me on that. I'm not sure if it's playing them at full speed or plays the whole file in under a second  ?
My library stands at 3300 files of which about 20% is .ra or .rmj or something.  Some are MP3 and more recently APE.

Something in there also causes Media Center to Crash and burn.
Last time i had to load import the files in small segments but still failed to work out any particular file that does it....

If i find more out.... I'll add it here.
I don't place this as urgent tho  8)

You can use Help > Configure Debug Logging... to help find the file that causes the problem.

If you fnd a file MC can't handle, please email a copy to matt at jriver.com.

Thanks.

Don't you love computers...
as soon as i turned the debugger on, it imported fine.
Although the noises did still occur and i managed to decipher one of them as the start of "champagne super nova", looked it up
and indeed it was a .ra file..........

Don't have time to play around now, but i'll leave the debugger
on and mess around with it tomorrow.
Cheers again.
