Bedessy: CD burning problem
« on: May 16, 2005, 08:09:29 pm »

These last couple of builds while trying to make a cd, around track three or four, the burning process stops with an error. {Incompatable medium}, and my burner kicks out a bad CD. Has anyone else seen this problem?

Which burner are you using (Pioneer or Plextor)? Does the same problem occur on both?

To rule out a hardware problem, can you burn ok with other software?

If it's not that, please try the simplest possible CD burn and if that works we can work backwards to find what fails.

1. convert a music file to wave format
2. disable all special burning options: direct decoding, cd-text, crossfade/DSP
3. set burn speed at 4X
4. burn the same track (wave file from step 1) 10 times onto a fresh blank cdr
5. don't do anything else on the computer while the burn takes place
