Stable wireless player for MC10/11
« on: May 19, 2005, 02:00:15 am »

Hello

I need help find a stable wireless player for my setup below.

I use MC10 currently in zone 1 with Netremote to control my play options plus stop & start the music server and it works very well.
I want to play music in another room but want to retain the MC music play control via Netremote, all I need is stable wireless player that will just stream uncompressed WAV files from the server and play via small amp.

Does anyone know any device that will suite my need as I have read lots of posts here on upnp receivers but they all seem to have their own control to select and play music from the server.

Thanks

I think the best for you would be a second soundcard in your PC in conjunctioŽn with DLan Audio (http://www.devolo.co.uk/uk_EN/index.html).

There is also a way to connect the PC to that DLAN network without a second soundcard, but directly via USB or ethernet, but then it's limited to WMP and Winamp  :'(  Perhaps someone here knows of a plugin for devolo in MC or for MC in devolo.

Hope this helps

I checked that device you mentioned but it just offers LAN over power cable.

I am looking for a wireless client player that will stream WAV files from the MC10/11 server and I control the play via netremote on my PPC that way I don't have to care about the client it just plays what ever I select from my netremote PPC.

surely there must be something like this out there...anyone any ideas??

You need to look closer, it offers not only LAN over power, but also music streaming over power, that's why you would need a second soundcard. (or you have a soundcard with at least 4.0)
