Install problem
« on: June 21, 2005, 07:39:57 pm »

This one hangs up about 2/3 of the way through "Installing Dependencies".

Not only does the installation hang, if I try to do anything else, the computer hangs up and the only thing that works is the power button.

Now that's confusing. I just noticed my System info says 299 but it never installed.

C8,
Do you have an Internet connection?  It's needed for the Windows Media 10 codec installation.

There's more info on WM10 installs here:

I was also having trouble installing Rhapsody (I was getting a "corrupted DRM" message and the update hung up just as described above). I then realized that all of this began happening after updating Windows Media Player. I did a "system restore" back to last week and the problems went away.
