Complete Album Logic
« on: June 24, 2005, 10:19:42 pm »

Can someone help me with the full logic for the complete album tag?

I have 2 albums with more than 10 tracks each, all same album name and no missing tracks.  But the Complete Album tag is still not showing them complete.

What other criteria are there?

Both are various artists albums if that helps...

Interesting becuase I have several albums with all of the above criteria that don't match and I did do the rename from file properties with these as well.  I also have several 'songs' that obviously don't meet this criteria yet show up as a complete album.

What specific mechanism or program call actually changes the 'complete album' field?

I have many albums that do and do not fit the criteria listed above, yet they are not properly labled as either a complete or incomplete album.  I'm thinking I need to re-run some process that causes MC to re-check the criteria and then re-adjust the compete album field.

I thought I would bring this back up a bit, how do you jiggle MC into updating it's complete album logic?  I have several albums that are now complete but they still show as incomplete.

datdude,

Complete Album should switch to "1" as soon as an album has 2 or more consecutive tracks starting with the 1.  It's not a perfect system, as I have a few semi-albums where I have the first two or three tracks, but MC interprets it as complete.  But, it should calculate constantly.  I think.

there's a bit more...

The consecutively numbered tracks must also be in the same exclusive folder, and have exactly the same [album] tag (things like trailing spaces will spoil the logic)

satisfy all of those, and MC should then mark the album as 'complete'

-marko.

I have several albums like this, and MC is not recognizing them as complete.  My work around now, is to create a new library field called Complete Albums and then copy over the fields from the auto version.  Now I can manually update these. ;D

I added the word 'exclusive' to my previous post, just for clarification.

If there's any other audio files in there, they'll mess the logic too.

I say audio files, because I can't imagine they'd allow a cover art file to mess it up, I've never tested this out though, so don't know for sure if other file types affect the logic, other audio files will for sure though.

My albums are, as I did a rename from properties along  time ago with artis album directories.
