I submit to yadb then yadb can't recover info
« on: July 20, 2005, 08:14:36 pm »

I have an 8 disc set of CDs to rip.
I put the 1st one in but yadb says info not found.
I open with windows media player and their DB finds the info.
I ripped with WMP.
Then brought the tracks into MC10.
Went to library tools and said to submit to yadb.
yadb says submission was successful.
Now I try to rip CD with MC10 but yadb still says info not found.
Why?
How to fix this without manually entering all the info (especially since I can get the info from another source)?
Surely there is a way to do this!

Hi Shimshai,

I need more details. At least the name of the artist and CD. Preferably the exact time you did the submit and lookup. And best would be the IP address used to do the submission and lookup.

Just to make sure - it's the same physical CD you are using, not a burned copy, right?

>>the name of the artist and CD:
CD: 100 Classical Masterpieces [Box Set] Disc 1
Artist: Various Artists

>>the exact time you did the submit and lookup
Not sure. Probably after 9 p.m. though

>>the IP address used to do the submission and lookup:
external I.P. from http://www.whatismyipaddress.com/ : 65.191.185.12

(I am not sure if this has changed since then because I have rebooted)

internal I.P.: 192.168.2.41
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
default gateway: 192.168.2.1

>>it's the same physical CD you are using, not a burned copy, right?
YES

Thanks!

Found the problem - you submitted the CD not as a CD, but as individual track information. You must submit it as a CD. Once the information is correct, right click on the CD drive in the tree, and choose submit there. Don't highlight the tracks, right click, and choose submit. It's a different database.

If I open windows media player it recognizes the songs from their DB.
But how do I go from there to submitting them to yadb?
If I rip them and then bring the mp3 songs into media center and submit then it submits individual  track info.
yadb still does not recognize the CD. is there a way to associate the info from the ripped mp3 songs with the tracks on the CD so that I can submit as a CD?
Or do I have to type in the info for the CD even though I have the info available from windows media player?
I am ripping dozens of CDs and cannot possibly type in all this info but would like to help update the yadb.
Surely there is a way to get media center to get all this info without retyping it all!
