Send to network folder
« on: July 10, 2005, 08:23:52 pm »

Hi!

I have Media Center 11 installed on a media server stored in a cabinet and remote controlled by windows remote desktop on my desktop PC.

I wanna be able to easily transfer files to my SD card for playing on my IPAQ. However, the SD card reader sits in my desktop PC, and is mapped as a network drive on the media server. So I wonder if there's any way to easily transfer files in my media library to a network drive. When I right click a file in the media library and select 'Send To' - 'Drives&Devices', the only choice I get is 'CD/DVD Burner'. Is there a plugin that lets me send to a network drives?

There is, just not in the Send to menu.  There are actually quite a few ways to do it, but this should work:

Select the files --> Right Click --> Library Tools --> Copy Disk File...

You could also:  Select the files --> Navigate to the Network Drive location under "Drives and Devices" in the tree (underneath "My Computer") --> Drag & Drop the files to the location where you want them --> Select "Copy" from the pop-up menu.
