Raw image import
« on: July 21, 2005, 09:53:19 am »

Image File importing.  I own MC 10, but 11 is a trial.
I own a new Digital Nikon SLR camera, and use the RAW file format.  I was thrilled to find that the MC 10 deals with RAW formats, including NEF files, however, they won't all import.  About 4% loaded.  All files are 3038 x 2012, it's a 6.1 megapixle camera.  The files range from about 5 Meg to almost 7 meg.  There dosn't seem to be any rhyme or reason, some of the files successfully imported are close to the 7meg, some close to the 5 meg.  All files are named something like "DSC_1234.nef".

Are there limits in the trial version?  It won't let me drag and drop them, or import them through the menu.  Any ideas?

Thanks.

The trial version is the same as the full version in all respects.  It just runs for 30 days and then stops.

Try right clicking on a file that didn't import and use the Media Center/Import option.

Are they not importing at all?  Or is it just taking a long time?

Do you have a sample file that doesn't work for you?

Right click - Media Center/Import Works.    I can select multiple files and import also.  I can at least get them in like that.

When I use the "Import" option under Tools, I don't get any errors, they just aren't recognized.

Yes, I have sample files.  How do I get you one?

Funny thing I noticed, the files that I imported using the right click method all show "? x ?" under dimentions.  All other attributes look the same.

Good question.

Try compressing it (I can't recall if .nef is already compressed) and sending it to tom@jriver.com
