Zen Micro recognition issue
« on: July 22, 2005, 09:05:29 pm »

Just received my Zen Micro.  Did not install the sftwr that came with the player.  Plugged in the device to USB port.  MC10 does not "recognize" the micro.  I tried Tools > Plugin Manager with no success.

Any advice?

TIA

Please copy your system info from MC Help.

Make sure you have the latest version of MC11.

You may have better luck with MC11.  MC10 was released before the Zen Micro was available.

does tool>plugin-mgr>handheld>portable device>download plugins recognize the Zen Micro if I buy MC11, or do you just recommend MC11 generally?

I set out a specific problem, I'm hoping to hear about a specific remedy.

TIA

LaneNem,

What firmware do you have installed for the Micro?

1.01.03

I fixed the problem.  I loaded about 200 megs of the Creative jukebox software that came with the player (something I was hoping to avoid), got my computer and MC to recognize the micro and am now deleting the Creative software.  I think the MC plugin used is Nomad II, but am not sure.

An aside: Should I uncheck WMDM support as recommended in your earlier thread?

Thank you.

It depends, but generally the answer is yes.
