Track Splitting
« on: October 06, 2002, 10:52:49 am »

Beginner Question:

I imported a recording and want to split up the tracks. Is there a way to manually define the tracks AFTER it has been recorded?

Thanks,

D

Media Editor can do this but it is tedious.

Can you re-record and let the recorder split the tracks?  There is a FAQ on line in recording under help above.

Thanks Jim,

How would I do it with the Media Editor?

The recording is live and the breaks are rather slippery.

Thanks again,

David

I think with Media Editor, you select what you want for a track, then save it as a separate file. Then you can delete the selection and move on to the next track. There may be a better method than this, I haven't tried it myself.
You could re-record and just use the manual "Split Track" button to split the tracks at the spot you want. You're right that the auto splitting probably wouldn't work if there aren't definite breaks between tracks (clapping, etc.).
