Trouble importing

I am having trouble importing music files into MJ8.  My computer starts the process and then locks up.  What could be the problem.  I used an earlier edition of MJ and had no problem at all.

Try importing a single file type (MP3, for example).

Try importing single directories.

I have another kind of problem in importing.
I cannot import ACC format file (m4a). Is it not supported by MJ8?
