TiVo2Go Mpeg-2
« on: August 16, 2005, 10:04:52 pm »

Hey guys...  I'd like to use MC11 to watch my Tivo2Go vids and I'm having a person of at time getting it done.  Every time I try to watch a vid, it opens up WindowsMedia and it won't view from within MC.  What's the deal?  Do I need to re-buy a mpeg-2 decoder, or is there a way there can be a plug in support from within MC11?  I was using PowerDVD 2.55 (an old one, I know).

Thanks...

(update: I went ahead and got Sonic Cineplayer for the decoder... same problem)

What format are the videos? If they are pure mpeg-2, then we should be able to play them. But I have vague memories that the TiVo2Go files are in a protected format...

They are an encrypted version - however there's a codec installed which is supposed to work with Directshow compliant/capable clients - which I thought MC was ?

Of course the new Tivo system software allows you to reply them on the Tivo - which might be as easy as ...
