aspect ratio of images on non-square pixel display
« on: August 30, 2005, 03:14:01 pm »

Is there any way to force MC (in theater view) to stretch images (or perhaps the whole UI)?

My 4x3 aspect ratio display is 1776x1000 resolution.  As such, fonts, album covers, and images from the picture library are all displayed horizontally squished.

Is there any way to get the system to pre-stretch all of this stuff so that when it is squished back down it is displayed properly?

MC doesn't currently have this support built-in.

It almost seems like something you'd want at the driver level so all apps would look right.  Does anyone know of any tools out there that help with this?

Thanks, Matt.

It's an odd problem.  It seems like whichever part of the system would solve it would have to know the difference between foreground things (these need stretching) and background things (these shouldn't be stretched).
