TCP_Write error on MC 1.0.135
« on: September 19, 2005, 09:45:02 am »

Hi all,

I hope you can help - I am receiving the following error any time I or anyone else tries to connect to MC

tcp_write failed error=10053

I have turned off all firewalls, virus checkers etc.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Many Thanks,

Brian

I need more details please - what are you trying to do? Connect from TiVo, or a UPnP Device, or another PC with Media Center?

Thanks,

j

Hi John and thanks...

I am trying to connect using a PC.
On my PC I start off by running Media Server then I try to connect using Media Jukebox. The connection appears to be successful until it tries to retrieve the library and then media server displays that error and Media Jukebox displays a message stating that the connection to server failed.
I have tried using my external IP address and also on a local loop 127.0.0.1

I hope this is enough info?

Thanks again,

Brian

Is the version of MC the same on both PC's?

Please copy your system info from MC Help and paste it here.

Hi again John,

I tried using a remote PC yesterday and I could connect to his machine. He couldn't connect in to me so I have been testing on just one machine i.e. running Media Jukebox and Media Server on the one machine using local IP and external IP addresses.

I will paste the sys info in for you this evening -

Thanks,

Brian

You CANNOT share to the same machine. (You used to be able to do that, but no longer).
