Media Server start on boot
« on: September 12, 2005, 07:20:14 pm »

I'm setting up my main system to be a server for my other systems using MC11, so I have Media Server in the "Startup" folder so that it runs when the main system is booted up.  When I do this, however, the first time I start MC11 after booting, it comes up in a smaller window rather than maximized.  I prefer to always run MC maximized, so it's annoying to have to maximize it every time I reboot the system.  If Media Server is not started, this does not happen -- MC always remembers it's last "size" state.  Every time Media Server starts, however, it causes MC to "forget" it's size and it's once again in a window on startup.

Is there a way to address this?  Is there perhaps a command line switch I could add to either the Media Server or the MC startup shortcut that will get MC to ALWAYS start up maximized?

Thanks,

Larry

If you make a new shortcut for Media Center, then right click on it you can change the way Media Center starts.

Right click on the shortcut>>>Properties>>>run>>>maximized

Thanks for the suggestion, but this doesn't work.  If Media Server is started, MC11 still comes up in a non-maximized window even though the shortcut is set to start up maximized.  Once again, this is only on the first MC start after Media Server is started (like at bootup.)

Thanks for looking into this,

Larry,

We've changed this for 11.1.

It's not completely straight-forward and may have some side-effects, so it probably won't be rolled into 11.0.

Thanks,
