Media Center will not play Internet Radio stations that use WMV format (file type),they will play in Windows Media Player. I am using Media Center 11.0.309. Any Suggestions.

Do you mean radio?  WMV is a video format.  MC will play it.

I mean radio.some radio stations for some reason use WMV format and will not play,this problem has only occured recently.
All the relevant File Associations on  Media Center have been selected.
The radio stations using WMA  RAM and MP3 formats play OK.

Hi

This is my first message since registering for the forum (a few minutes ago!).

I have experienced the same problem with internet radio using the .wmv extension. If I open the .asx file (that I have saved to my hard drive) using windows media player it plays fine, however, if I do the same with media center 11 it plays an initial wma file then there is a switch from .wma to .wmv and the player stalls!

Media Center 11 will not play WMV files for me.
They play OK in Windows Media Player 10.
Has anybody else had this problem and if so how did you fix it, your help would be much appreciated.

I have uninstalled Windows Media Player 10, this leaves
Windows Media Player 9 installed.
I can now play Internet Radio Stations that use WMV file Format in Media Center 11.
