When importing files MC 11 will find and scan all my files, but only imports .mp3.  It does not import the .wma files.

It will however play the .wma file by using "file/open media file".  The file will then be in the playing now window.

Very weird, any ideas?

when you import, click on advanced button, and make sure .wma is checked

Yep, already did that.  That's not the issue but thanks.

Additionally I did some more investigating and found that all the .wma files get this treatment:

0481453: Import: ImportNewFiles: Adding: E:\Music\Music on Laptop updated 7_28\Beck\Sea change\Beck - End of the day.wma
0481453: Import: ImportNewFiles:     Ignored (already in database, etc.)

But the file is NOT in the library.  In fact, I created a new library with nothing in it just to make sure.

I've toggled the "exclude previously deleted files" button off (actually on and off to make sure) and this doesnt solve the issue.

How do I get MC to stop "ignoring" these files?

Maybe they aren't wma files.  What do you know about them?

Well, they have an .wma extension.  They play just fine in windows media player.  As stated, they will play in MC11 if I navigate to them through the open/file command.  Not sure what else they would be and since I have all music checkboxes checked in the import screen it ought to import them anyways.

What is this "database"?  They are aren't in the Library I am trying to import them into.

That means that MC did import them, but they may not have been assigned to audio.  Try looking under video or documents.

Or you've previously deleted them from MC.  There is a way to tell MC to import even files you've deleted.  It's under tools/options/[something].

What version of MC are you using?

The files are not in this library at all.  However, they are in another library.  I'm trying to run two libraries to resolve something else.  Maybe that's it.

I checked and unchecked the "import previously deleted items" box on the import screen.  Doesn't make a difference.  It still generates and "ignored already in the database".

I'm using 11.1.183

Any ideas?

Please update to MC12. 

You could also try a more recent version of MC11.1:

Well, not sure why, but I installed the newer version and it worked fine.  Guess we'll never know, but that's ok w/ me.

I guess the old when in doubt reboot or better yet re-install adage won!
