MC 11 is really full-featured, IMHO. I looked all around in the directory structure for a PDF manual or some such but, alas, none was to be found. What's one do for a comprehensive manual? (Being a techwriter, online help pages and this forum just aren't the same as a bonefied manual.)

Am I just overlooking the obvious?

There is no PDF version.  The best help for basics is in the Help section within MC.  After that, there is a lot of detail on the forum.

I hope you can appreciate that we're working in an area that changes almost daily.

The FAQ on this board has links to many useful topics.  Several users have done a nice job of documenting various aspects.  Alex B, for example.  I've learned a lot just reading his posts.

If you need help, or a pointer to help, please post here.  Chances are you'll get an answer from another user who's been down the same road.

Ummmm, so in order to access any help files my media server must be online? Can I not just nab your help HTML collection from this site somewhere and keep said files available in a MC 11 subfolder?

I maybe being dumb here... but
the help file thats available from the
help menu of MC is available offline as part of the installation
It's fairly comprehensive, although I'm not sure it's always
always up to date...

Press F1 in MC.
That will bring you to the Help files.... I believe it's as up to date as the latest 11.0 build.

11.1 Is still in Alpha/Beta

Ah you wouldn't have found it under those, it's of the HTML help type
so .CHM

  Thanks, Mr. ChriZ. I feel like Rip(ped) VanWinkle sometimes in relation to new technologies intro'd in the past couple of years... about the time I stopped festering over reading the likes of InfoWorld, PC Week, PC Magazine, Windows NT and a bazillion other pubs I felt compelled to assimilate on a weekly/monthly basis.

Ok, found the CHM file but, being somewhat old-school. really want hardcopy. That said, I converted the CHM to a PDF that I can more easily print as a faux manual I can read at the breakfast table (though I recognize the usefulness of interacting with MC while I'm exploring the UI).
