device error when burning

Hope this hasn't already been answered, but I cannot burn discs.  I get the error msg: "A device error occurred.  Error number 1002.  Error data is: Key:2ASC:4ASCQ:1".  What does this mean?  My system info is:

Media Jukebox PLUS 8.0.400
Install Path: C:\Program Files\J River\Media Jukebox\

CPU: AMD Athlon 1988 MHz MMX
Memory: Total - 523 MB, Free - 125 MB
OS: Microsoft Windows XP  Workstation 5.1 Service Pack 2 (Build 2600)

media center is a bit newer and supports more and newer drives

it has a 30 day free trial
