managing mp3 files on another PC
« on: September 27, 2002, 06:18:35 am »

Just started using Media Jukebox 8.0.372 so this is probably a dumb question but.....

I've got a ton of mp3's on another PC thats networked to mine (where I'm running MJ).  I imported my existing mp3's into a MJ libraray and everything's fine.

Here's the question part.  When new mp3's show up on the other PC, how can I get them automatically included in my MJ library, or if this isn't possible, can I schedule an import that excludes any duplicate tracks?  Maybe I'm coming at this from the wrong direction so, any help / suggestions gratefully received.

Thanks in advance for any help

You have to manually start an import.

We may add an automatic import in version 9.0.

Thats actually a really cool idea and would help us users of multiple machines out immensely... Having an option to set MJ to auto rebuild at midnight on Sunday and having an option to clear the DB first would be great...

This way all my machines would stay synced up and any machine could edit the tags on my server and the rest would simply clear and rebuild the DB at set intervals...

Multi machine problem solved...

Media Scheduler can't do that for you?
