UTF issue with flac plugin?
« on: December 19, 2005, 06:05:24 pm »

Hi

I am using Scott Thompsons Flac plugin. I rip with EAC, transcode to Flac with Flac.exe
After importing the media (tags are right), MC cannot display the characters properly - norwegian, swedish, german special characters are changed to strange letter-combinations.
Matt (admin here) suggests, this might be an UTF issue with the Flac plugin.
Any suggestions how to solve the issue?

Thanks!

Update.: When I uninstalled the Plugin and installed Oblong's plugin instead, I could update the database and the characters came out properly... Is there any fix for Scott's plugin in sight? Or am I making a mistake along the way somewhere?

There is a bug in the UTF encoding.  I actually noticed a while back but haven't had time to fix it yet.  I plan on spending some time over the holidays looking at this.

Thanks so much for looking into this  :)

Yesterday evening, I was adding Michael Bublé's Album "Michael Bublé" to the collection and ended up with 5 albums: Michael Bublé, Michael BubléM, Michael Bublée, Michael Bubl@, Michael Buble□ ...  ;D

Have a great Holiday!

Hi Thomas

yesterday, I had another encoding session, so I went to your website and found an updated Flac.dll!
Thank you very much for updating it, special letters are no issue anymore!!!!
