which player will support streamed vob files?
« on: January 04, 2006, 10:40:27 am »

I already use the Netgear MP101 for music.

I'm now considering adding a Buffalo Roomlink or an Avelplayer (or similar) in another room.  This would be for mp3 files sometimes, but would primarily be used for movies.  Specifically backed up DVDs stored on hard drive as .vob files.
I see the specs of the video formats that these devices support, but I'm not up on my video formats.  What exactly is the format for a vob file?
Is it mpeg-2?

Anyone using a device like these and using MC's upnp server to watch vob files in another room?

The Buffalo definitely handles vob files, so does the D-Link DSM-320.

My AvelLink has broken, so I can't tell, but it probably does too.
