I want to stop JRM from launching on boot.  I'm on v.10. Does it have a setting to set for it to start up on bootup?

I have checked all users Startup folders; I have looked at MSCONFIG; and I have looked in the Registry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINe/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Local Version/Run. It's not in any of those places. I cannot find a setting in JRM to set that.

Yet, it launches when I boot up.

Where am I forgetting to look?

Media Server has such a setting, but not MC10.  Media Scheduler is started automatically if you've told MC to re-acquire file types (under options/file associations).

I'm on v 10.0.161. I have not upgraded to 1.73,as it seems to disable my FLAC file types from playing.


I see no option for reqcquire file types. I looked through other menus for that setting too, and do not find it.

Control Of Files:

Tools>Options>File Associations: checkbox at bottom of window


To turn Media Scheduler on/off: 

Tools>Option>General: checkbox middle of window

Thanks for the info, but the media scheduler is off, and the checkbox at the bottom of the file associations is not checked. That's how I understand the above statement. So this must not be what is autolaunching JRM.

Yes, that's good. Or, you could get Spybot: Search & Destroy. Run it in advance mode and one of the tools in the program lets you view all start-up/auto-launch entries -- and then you can easily turn off or delete whatever you want. Plus, of course, you get all the usual Spybot benefits. And it's free, of course: Available on Download.com. I use it all the time to get rid of the Quicktime autolauncher that always seems to be reinstalling itself.
