Another Smartlist Question
« on: January 07, 2006, 02:42:12 pm »

I would like to creat a smartlist that will show all songs from every artist that is contained in another playlist called "Recent Interests".  I would like the new smartlist to be dynamic, so as I put a new song by a new artist in my "Recent Interests" playlist, this new smartlist will automatically include every song by that new artist.

I'm stumped.  Any ideas?

For every track in "Recent Interests", find all tracks by the artist.

~dup[pid="Recent Interests", Artist]  (Can ~dup accept playlists as input (?)

It does not work.

You can use a field to find matches, or find what's common/different beteen lists.

What you want is a partial match beteen lists (only Artist). Don't think its possible to do that atm.

A modifier like [~a ] (full albums) can include all albums of the mentioned artist, but what would  really help you is a modifier [~t] (all tracks). Don't think it exists yet. I'd try to get around it by building  a view scheme.
