Hello,
I've just tried River Media Center 11 with my Hauppauge's WinTV PVR USB 2 tuner card and it doesn't work.

When I click on OPTION in the River Media Center window, a small window appears and shows "PlaybackEng
Failed to render video stream. Possible cause :
The video capture driver is in use by another application
Please make sure that you are not running any other TV application and that no video files are selected in any Windows Explorer windows."

All my Hauppauge's drivers and applications are up to date from the Hauppauge's web site.
No other tv or video application is running.
Hauppauge WinTV2000 software works fine. Media portal too.
My configuration is : windows xp sp2 family up to date, notebook ASUS, 512 MB, Pentium M 740, Geforce 6200.

Could you please tell me how to solve this trouble ?

Not yet. I am still looking into it.

Would you be able to give us an ETA when you find what is causing it?

Might this be caused due to lack of support for USB v2? If so, might the hardware allow the driver to load in v1.1 mode ans work?

It is because I have not had chance to get hold of a PVR-USB2 device to test with. It seems that the driver of this device is different from, say PVR 150/250. This is one problem I have with Hauppauge. Their different devices behave so differently, I have to code for each one separately. In contrast, many ATI devices behave uniformly.

No that is not possible.


I am waiting for my PVR USB2 device to arrive (possibly today). Then I will be able to work out a solution.

PVR USB2 device will work in MC in the next build.
