I got my old iPod replaced last night at my local Apple store due to a dying hard drive. 41-days remained on my 1yr warrantee. Woot!

Anyway...

I'm trying to configure this new iPod to receive my library of music. Last night I was able to connect and sync my library of ~1400 songs from ~8 smartlists. No issue, so I thought. using MC11.0.316 on WinXP.

I am trying to reconnect tonite to sync up and get today's rating changes (to feed my smartlists). iPod seems to connect for a second; sync action window appears and then disappear and iPod is ejected.

What might I be doing wrong? Any suggestions?

Please try the latest 11.1 from the top of this board. There have been many iPod and handheld improvements.

Thanks for the pointer Matt,

11.1 does the same thing.

iPod Connects, Sync Window appears, 1-2 seconds later closes, iPod ejects.

Try "Redetect" in MC's options for handhelds under "Device management".

Uninstall iTunes or at least kill the ituneshelper from the task manager.
