I bought a new Audigy 4 sound card, and it comes with it's own  remote control and USB receiver. Plus it has a full screen menu interface to use with the remote for listening to music, but it pales in comparison to MC. Is there any way to make this remote with MC?

I've been wondering the same thing. Is that the same remote the audigy 4 has?

I've not persued this goal as yet, there are too many other, real life™, things taking priority just now. I have bookmarked this interesting looking thread however... [interesting thread]
It looks like it may well be possible, but only after some serious hoop-jumping sessions. He does make mention of some trial and error stuff he had to go through to get the codes, but slips it in on the QT, like it was no real problem to him. bet it took him ages!!!

anyhoo, if it helps, and you manage to come up with a working keymap file for MC before I do, fancy sharing it?

It's a little different. It does not have as many buttons on it.

The remotes to our sound cards are suppose to already work with windows applications, and there is an option for that in the drivers (look under Media Entertainment settings) in your start menu. I have mine turned on, but it doesn't seem to do anything. I am going to  email Creative Labs and see if they can offer some insight on this.

hey neat, that works.... but is extremely limited.

I can browse around, direction keys appear to be mapped to the cursor keys, and the page up/down keys, with the OK button firing a return. play/pause/stop do nothing for me.

I must make some time for this....
