Test my media server please?
« on: September 24, 2002, 07:22:32 pm »

If someone has a second, could they try to connect to my media server?  I want to make sure that everything's working okay and that I can listen to my tunes at work tomorrow.  If someone could connect, I'd appreciate it.

I connected fine - but it was a newer version than 8.0.375 which I'm running.

Since I connected/d'loaded fine - I think you are set, but I couldn't actually play any tunes.

What version are you?

Ahh, I'm using the v9 preview 6.  I didn't expect that the versions had to match to get it to work, :D.  Thanks for the test, though man, I appreciate it.

Same issue here Kurt, I'm using 8.0.378.

Glad to help a fellow iPod'er!

I connected to your server, and downladed the database OK. I could browse your 3830 files.

However, I could not listen any song. I get the following message: "Please make sure that the path in the Media Library points to the right location".

I never used the Server before, so I do not know about what can be the problem.

MJ9 is still an alpha build, so it may not be implemented yet. I do no know.

May be your F: unit is not accesible right now.

The version 9 media server has a bug.  it always returns references to the server's file system instead of streaming urls that start with "m01p://".

Doh!  I should have paid more attention in the v9 threads, hehe.  I thought it might be an NTFS problem, so I assigned "Read" on the drive to everyone.  But if it's not fully imped yet, I'll just wait.  And cry.  A lot.   :'(

edit:  As an afterthought...

I used v9 preview 6 to connect to kingsparta's media server from work today.  If there's a bug, it's not a client-side one.

We'll try to get Media Server going again in the next build or two.
