Something is wrong with 11.1.115
« on: February 08, 2006, 04:44:44 pm »

The last few build have had some issues I am trying to figure out.
  • Many of my songs have no song title in MC anymore.  The file tags show a name but MC does not.  It used to display correctly in MC.
  • For the above, I tried reimporting/updating files.  That did not work
  • My audio podcasts have the video icon in MC.  I assume they are being catagorized wrong?
  • My podcasts are not being displayed in the podcast section of my IPOD 5G.  This should at least be an option.
  • My tivo server still does not work.  It is not playing well with the newer Tivo desktop.
  • Reinstalling the beacon in options simply causes MC to crash every time
  • Other programs can see the beacon API fine.

Can you please take a look at these?

  Thanks!

I saw the first problem you list with an earlier build. Selecting the files with missing attributes then choosing Update Library (from tags) from Tools->Library Tools fixed it and it hasn't recurred. You might try that.

I have no insight into the others you list.

Thanks for the reply.  This should happen automagically when I reimport files.  I'll try what you said against my 9k files..  Should take awhile..

Update from tags or restore from a library backup.

This may be fixed with tonight's build.  Please give it a shot.

Thanks.

If the MC guys can figure this one out I will be impressed.  Apple is doing something special with these files through iTunes (mp3's are even bookmarked like AAC) and is being very tight-lipped about it.  The only way I have heard of people getting this to work when using an external program is to build an XML file for their podcast files and load that to iTunes as an RSS feed.  Of course that means you are stuck using iTunes.

It looks like there is a good WIKI on this subject:

Have you already seen this?

Fixed, sorry about that.  Try the reset button in the next build, see if that helps...
