maybe an mj error?  maybe not?
« on: September 21, 2002, 11:02:58 pm »

well i see you also got the login bug? well maybe bug is the wrong word.  just lately everywhere i go is requireing a login.   :(

here is the trouble now with this computer.   i got the sound all working.  from the last time  only i now notice there is no volume control showing in the mj. ?

so i looked and this is what the error says in direct x

"it says a file for direct voice chat is missing. "

would that do anything to the sound vol contol?

the error i get on the mixer when i click on it is

"there is a problem with your sound hardware you may access the mixer through the control panel"

that is the one i get when clicking on the cont for the sondvul32.exe in the the windows folder.

but when i go in to the control panel the options for the mixer on the mulitmedia panel are grayed out.?

is this only on my computer or is this a mjb error?

thanks.

I am assuming this is analogue out not digital out to a decoder...

Have you changed from Directshow (directsound) to WavOut or vice versa ?? Havfge you tried playing with default playback device...

Alwasy try removing the soundcard drivers and re installing if they were fine and have gone flakey...

Reinstalling the sound card driver is very good advice.

i did that jim that is how i got the sound working when the wma and wmv files were not playing.

but if i redo the sound drivers then it might mess up them again.  since i have no idea why the sound drivers finally decided to take hold on the 25th time of doing that and  fix the trouble with the wma files.

i am just glad it was not a mj bug.  ;D
