11.1 trashes ipod dynamic playlists
« on: February 15, 2006, 12:23:49 pm »

Trying MC 11.1 with my iPod again.

I have, or rather had, a lot of dynamic playlists on my ipod.  These are smart playlists that the ipod itself updates in real time. For example, I have a playlist that shows all files imported today, another that lists all files rated 5 stars, etc.

When I connect the ipod and view it under MC, MC 11.1 turns these playlists into static lists on the ipod.  The playlists have the correct songs in them, as of the connection time, but they no longer update on the iPod.

I know that MC doesn't (yet?) support the dynamic playlist feature, but to trash them seems a bit extreme.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Brian

Saw that discussion, but not specifically about MC actually damaging existing dynamic playlists.

Thanks for pointing it out anyway,

No database changes are made unless you delete or upload a file.

After this, the database will be rewritten.  Dynamic playlists are not currently supported.

confirmed.  The problem was occuring when I deleted files on the ipod with MC.

Thanks Matt.
