Hi,

I recently added a 300GB disk to my Music PC and after moving some files around I used the "Verify" function in the "Monkey Audio" GUI (Version 4.01) to check some files to confirm that nothing got corrupted. In the Options I saw that now a "Quick Verify" is now possible and in fact some of my files were verified really fast, but not all.
  So my question is: When is it possible to do the Quick Verify and when does the verify process still use a complete uncompress? Has this something to-do with the version (e.g. 3.97 vs. 3.99)?
 
If this is the case, this would give me a good reason to convert all my 3.97 apes into the latest format. What would be the most efficient way to do this without losing any tagging information or messing up my MC library?

Quick Verify (MD5 built into the file) was introduced in 3.99. (I think)

To do APE -> APE conversion, I'd recommend using Monkey's Audio.  For APE to any other format, I'd use MC.

Thanks, I started to convert my old 3.96/3.97 apes to 3.99 using the 4.01 interface and it does work very well.  I especially like the "recreate n levels of directory structure" option. Unfortunately I can't benefit fromt the multithreading as I'm on a single core machine.
   The converted files can now be verified with the "quick verify" option. So it must be a 3.99 feature.
