Media Editor Not Encoding 32 bit MP3 correctly
« on: September 22, 2002, 03:16:40 pm »

I loaded a 32 bit MP3 into the Media Editor.  After making changes (cutting), I saved the file using MP3 32 bit from the Media Editor.

Media Editor saves the file.  However, when I playback the file in MJ, it sounds like the file is being played back at a different speed.  The same sound you get when one plays a VCR at fast forward.

Any suggestions?

What's your bitrate set for in options->Playback->Output ->bitdepth? It should either be "source bitdepth" or "32bit".

Do you mean 32-bit or 32-khz mp3?

It's possible that non-standard sample rates aren't getting encoded properly.

Let us know and we'll take  a look.

Format: MPEG-2.5 Layer 3
     32 Kbit CBR
     11.0 Khz Joint stereo

     ID3v1 Tag: Yes
     ID3v2 Tag: Yes

     Copyrighted: No
     Original: Yes
     Protected by CRC: No

Also the same thing happens when using the Convert Format module when attempting to convert the above format originally recorded as a WAV file to MP3.
