How to grab iTunes Podcast links in webpages
« on: February 18, 2006, 09:29:36 pm »

Pretty straight forward question.

How do you grab the podcast URLs from a page that directs you to iTunes or iTMS? I know that Juice (iPodder) will grab those links. Is there any way to make MC grab those links as well.

For the time being, I've installed Juice to grab those few links and then copy and paste into MC.

Try visiting them from within MC.  If the page is displayed in MC, you've got a good chance.

You can drag a link from IE into MC's browser (Start Page, for example).  Just grab the Explorer icon at the beginning of the link and drag it into MC's browser window.

No dice on either method, just sent me to the iTunes download site.

Any other ideas?

I did notice that Juice doesn't actually grab the link for iTunes, however, if you take the "http://phobos.blahblahblah.blah" link that pops up in your browser that is supposed to link up to the corresponding podcast on iTMS and paste it into Juice, it will parse that link and pull the correct podcast out of it.

Im going to try that with MC, I'll update with results in just a minute.

UPDATE...

No dice. It gets an error from the link. So the makers of Juice must have figured out how to parse the URL that iTMS uses to link to their podcasts.
