Invalid field in CDb
« on: February 23, 2006, 01:04:46 pm »

Could anyone please help me?  Since I've upgraded to version 11.1, I am unable to burn cd's

I just get the message "Invalid field in CDb" and it spits out the blank cd.

What could possibly wrong?

How can I get back to the previous version? ?

What kind of files are you trying to burn?  MP3?

Can you play them?

Can you convert them to WAV?

What are you doing when you try to burn?  Step by step, please.

What version are you using?  Copy your system info from MC Help and paste it here?

Under options for CD burning, try "Detect".

A: (1.) in the action window, I click on "Burn CD or DVD" then (2.) I choose Music CD on the dropdown menu, (3.)I click next (4.)I drop files into the "Drop Files Here" box (5.) o xchoose the options write speed 8X for better quality, eject after write, decode files directly to CD, Write CD-Text, Apply Cross-fade and DSP effects to the CD.(6.) I choose OK (7.) I click on burn (8.) it burns and the CD is unreadable.  If I choose Test mode in the CD writer settings, It complains about the Invalid field in CDb

Thanks for the details.  Please try these:

Try a burn at 1x or 2x.

Try dragging a single wav file to the burn window and burning the CD.

Try turning off options for these:
"decode files directly to CD, Write CD-Text, Apply Cross-fade and DSP effects to the CD"

We've seen strange problems caused by a virus checker or even other CD burning programs that run in the background.
