Upgrading to 11
« on: February 25, 2006, 04:18:28 pm »

Sorry for probably ANOTHER ( ::))upgrade question, but I'm a bit confused and couldn't find answers via searching.

I'm registered w/ MC 10.0.  I've downloaded what appears to be 11.1.130.  Is that the correct version to install prior to beginning the upgrade process?  Or is there an 11.0 somewhere that I should use as the "first step"?

The way I understand it, I should install the 11.0 30-day trial and then use an "upgrade" option on the 11.0 help menu to pay for the new version and receive my new key and become registered?  Correct?

Is 10.0 removed during this process?  If not, is it OK to remove afterwards?  I presume also that 10.0 must remain on the system during the payment process in order for me to get upgrade pricing?

Thanks in advance for the guidance, and continuing thanks for the great product.

You can uninstall 10.0 at any time (before or after).  It won't install your 10.0 license so MC11.1 will give you the upgrade price (watch carefully to be sure).

More details can be found on licensing here:

Thank you Jim.

Based on your use of "MC11.1" in your reply, I assume that 11.1.130 is the correct download for me to proceed?

It's fine.  It's MC11.1.  The 130 is the build number.
