Bring Back Sticky Selections
« on: February 26, 2006, 08:29:57 pm »

I find myself getting more and more frustrated with the selection clearing every time I change from library view to panes, or if I type something in the search box and then clear it, or if I use tagging mode to tag something (ie. a genre) and then click on that (genre) to continue tagging.

There seem to be a million times when sticky selections would be a convenience and only rare cases would it be confusing.

yes, but some of that you mentioned has been doing that since MJ7

I have no idea other than if a newuser was using it and switched views they may not see any files and get confused and not buy the program.

I have asked many times for search not to clear it's self.

I see what you're saying King Sparta, but I think that even in iTunes the panes selections are kept until manually cleared. I'm not even asking for anything that radical. Just the files in list view to be remembered after searches and in tagging mode.

If you use the back shortcut (back mouse button is the easiest) the selection, scroll, and search are all preserved.

This works just like a web browser in this regard.  Back keeps that state, while a new visit clears the state.
