My MC install problem (user error)
« on: March 01, 2006, 09:18:37 am »

Hello All.... Well this morning is not goin good so far,....

I have been getting some errors with MC at work... I looked in the Plugins folder and saw audioscrobbler.... doh!
I go into the Plug ins and select uninstall and it said that the Interface Plugin could not be found.

I searched for scobbler in the registery and deleted anything that related, deleted anything on my C:\ drive that related... Still couldn't run MC.
Uninstalled MC fully... Deleted any reference to JRiver in the registry and C:\

Reinstalled, and now MC does not open... No errors nothing....

So in short.... I puched my self this morning..... Any ideas?

PS - I put (User Error) in the subject line as this was comepletely my fault and should not be confused with any type of bug.

Thanks

  • Nice haircut

Start task manager and look for a process called Media Center.exe, kill it if it is running and try again.

THanks for the responce John.... I looked there and it's not running....

I am at work, and cannot reboot my machine right now, I should be able to reboot in about 30 min, so maybe that will make a diff.
THanks,

I tried uninstalling again and I get the following error... I got this error the other couple of times I uninstalled today.... I guess I should have included this in my first post...  :-[

RUNDLL

An exception occured while trying to run "c:\documents and sttings\User\Local Settings\Temp\JRMediaUninstall.dll", UninstallMC "C:\Program Files\JRiver\Media Center 11\JRMediaUninstall.exe"

I click OK, reboot, reinstall and no dice..... I have also tried to go into the registry and delete JRiver entries.
