Well, in my default Audio view scheme I have 8 panes, one of which is "Artist".  The Artist pane is set to group into A,B,C,D...1,2,3, etc, etc.  This is a quick-and-dirty method for me to search for, say, all Grateful Dead songs by typing in "dead" and selecting "G" within the artist pane.  I find this easier than limiting a search specifically to the artist column, or paying more attention to what I type, for that matter.

The McGuffin in this is that the "drop down" search method perfected in 11.1 will ignore the artist pane if it is grouped.  I can't figure out how to get around this.  Either I have to ungroup "Artist", which would make pane-based searches more painful, or I could add an addtional artist** pane which is not grouped.  But the panes are pretty snugged in there as it is now, what with eight of them.  Any comments/assistance?
