I have recently started using a USB key for easy transfer of data between computers, especially between home and work. These two locations, however, are the two computers that are always running Media Center.
Everytime I plug in the drive, Media Center pops up the 'DEVICE CONNECTED' tool panel in the lower left of the interface. Also, when I remove the drive, I recieve a 'Media Center was unable to initialize the desired handhelp, Check that it is plugged in a turned on.' error.
I'd like to know if there is a way to keep Media Center from trying to see this as a handheld media device.
I also have been getting intermittent and mysterious crashes in Media Center since I started using the drive, but I don't have any evidence that links the two. I generally get an error message referring to the "Media Core" or the like, but I'm not entirely sure.
