cd burning problems
« on: March 26, 2006, 05:09:18 pm »

After being away from MC for a few months, I decided to experiment with 11 - I own 10 - and am pleased with it, except...

I'm burning a lot of coasters.

I have two drives, a Dell-branded Samsung and a Plextor.

I have tried burning with each drive, and have stepped back the speed of the burn on both.

The first time through the Samsung produced something that would play on the computer drive but rebeled on my home and auto players (no, it's not an rw).

After reducing the speed of the burn substantially, I got sort of usable cds, but they tend to freeze at :45 in, or on the second track, or just drop out after quite a while.

As a control, I burned the same material using the same media (hp-branded) with Nero 6x, and they've been flawless in both drives.

Thoughts?

Slow them down to the minimum to test.

That could be the brand of disk or the player you're playing them on.

I was going to say uninstall other CD burning software before I saw "Nero".  We saw a problem recently that was caused by Nero.  Try uninstalling it.

What build are you using?  You can copy your system info from MC Help and paste it here.
