hello

i wonder if someone could let me know how the date tags work in MC.  I have been using the field 'Date (year)' to store the year that tracks/albums were released.  this is howver a calculated field, and can't be stored in tags.  there is another field called simply 'Date' which doesn't seem to be calculated, and i can store this info in tags, and yet when i enter a year into 'Date (year)' the 'Date' field is automatically given the same value (why would this be if it isn't calculated?).  To make matters more confusing the tag info that is written to the files is displayed as 'year' and in the format '2006.01.01' when i am only using the year and no months or days in MC.

i would like to know which is the best field to use for simply entering a year for each track/album, so that the tags have the same name and format.
