problem with drives letters and MJ settings
« on: September 17, 2002, 10:14:09 am »

Long ago i had my cdr list first and my crw list second. And life was easy

But , i get now cdw drive listed first G
cd-r drive second H

I have a lot of problems because of it:some programs do not even see a cd[music, data, programs] when in drive G.

And i have a problem with MJ: option Audio cd copy,by default the cdw G is listed. If i set to drive H,MJ reverse to H as soon i close the options.
Palying cds is oh,MJ see G and H  and list it in the tree.

If i change letters,do not fell it changes something. And some program as 'speeder drive ' still read G as my cdw.

I have an old slow cdw and a new fast cdr.But i cannot set ripping to my cdr IN ANY PROGRAM.

It is allways my cdw who is set.

Or i am saying stupid things,i am so feed up with it.
But ,one thing i know for sure: an an very old computer,Widows 98[NOT SE],a kind of ? 220[not pentium],i rip faster using Mj than with my computer

Windows lets you change those somewhere.  I've forgotten where.  Right click on drive letter in Explorer?

Yes but when i change letters, look like there is no change in speed.
And many programs still see the drives as they where before

I mean they do read cdr now G instead ofF and the same for cdw.
But when i test the drives,i get results for cdw under 'G:dvd-r'
and dvd-r results under "H:cdw"

And speed for rip is still links to cdw performances

The feeling that it is a cosmetic change, not changing really the way the drives are see by the OS.

Anyway,i know the first to ask is the shop.I did ,asking why the drives are not in the same order.

'Akool beseder'=it's fine,don't worry.

If the next Sony cd-dvd all standarts writer is not bound with millions security 'bugs'[out in October],i want to buy it.
In this case G: and H; would be both fast. But in the mean time....
