Saving a view
« on: June 08, 2006, 01:02:37 am »

I already posted this in the .185 bug topic, but maybe it isn't a bug after all?

I'm not sure in what version this very useful feature disappeared, but why can I not save a view for all locations anymore?

This is one of the questions that everybody has asked since it disappeared and to the best of my knowledge, JRiver has never answered as to why it was taken away and will it ever come back. It would be nice to know the answers.

Oh, that's what I get for being away for a month :-)

It's really annoying having to set the view for each location separatly, so I hope this is coming back soon.

i'm not sure if your talking about the same thing thats been bothering me.

most of my playlists are in imported playlists (about 600 fo them) and to see a customized view for them i have to change it individually in each one of my imported playlists, can't you get it defautl to a custom view each time for each playlist?

Here's how I like to look at MC:

Here's how it looks like in all but the one view I have modified to my liking:

I'd like it to come back as well.  I remember there were some grumblings on here about it (being confusing) at the time it vanished, but I agree...

I sometimes have 10-20 sub view schemes that I want to all match.  Setting them all manually is VERY obnoxious.

Adding easier view customizability for people with extreme cases (i.e. castew with 600 playlists in one group!) is something we'll work on in the next version of MC.

You can weigh-in on how the next generation MC deals with this here:
