Netgear MP101 Server as Service???
« on: June 21, 2006, 07:27:11 pm »

I was planning on using a very old (180 MHz) computer to run MC as a server for my Netgear media players 24/7 because I don't need the computer but I cannot get it to install.

Therefore, I would like to run MC on my server but have some issues.  First, I do not want to have to leave my account signed on, if possible.  Would switch user allow the server to run while technically logged in but at the logon screen?  I would ideally like to run it at a service so it doesn't require any logon at all.

Thanks!

There is a utility that will run any program as a service.  I don't remember the name, but try download.com or a search here.  It might also be in the FAQ here.
