UPNP & 100 % CPU Usage
« on: July 10, 2006, 04:59:37 am »

Hi There,

I love the UPNP Function of MC, but after starting the UPNP Server, the CPU Usage rises
up to 90% -100%. Whatīs wrong? I have many, many Songs in the Library. Could this amount of FIles the problem?

2nd Question: I have different UPNP Devices. The NETGAER thing works fine, but the PHILIPS SL5500 recognize MC but I canīt select any Files.

Thanks for all,
Matthias

A quick test: stop the UPnP server, disconnect the computer from the network (unplug the cable,
preferably at the opposite end), and restart the server. Does it still take all the CPU?

:o  Interisting!!! The CPU is less than 2-5% after Restarting the Server without Network cable connection. But what does this meanP

Thanks for this fast reply,

At a guess, there's several UPnP devices on your network that are contacting the server on startup. Run a sniff (www.ethereal.com) and see what's going on.
