restore via internet
« on: July 05, 2006, 09:53:16 am »

Hi,

I've requested a Registration Code twice for my version 9 and both requests seem to have failed as I haven't received an email.  I retreived my password for this forum, so I know my email is on file with you guys. How can I follow up on this?

Thanks,
Greg

I just tried it, the e-mail is sent and leaves our system fine. It's getting filtered somewhere on your end.

thank you. I assume it's going to xxxxxxxx@hotmail.com

for some reason, it's not showing up in my inbox or junk mail filter.  can I change my contact email to try another one?

Yes, it's going to that address.

You can change your contact e-mail via the restore page too. Give that a try and let me know.
If you figure out who is filtering it, let us know as well.

My restore emails from JRiver work on my hotmail account.  I think I did have a problem with it "spamming" them though.  It eventually got "trained" by me clicking the "Not Junk" button on the message though and now it doesn't happen anymore.

Make sure you don't have hotmail set to delete spam!

1. Click Options (top right side of Hotmail screen after login).
2. Click the Mail "tab" on the left (2nd one down under Personal)
3. Click Junk E-Mail Protection
4. Click Delete Junk E-Mail
5. Make sure "Deliver to Junk E-Mail folder and delete later" is selected and click OK.

Having Hotmail deliver SPAM to your junk folder doesn't count against your mailbox size limit, and they're automatically deleted every so often anyway, so it never hurts to have it stash them there!

thanks to you both.  it worked with an email change. Not sure what was going on with the hotmail as it was filtered into my junk folder and the junk folder was set for manual delete.  I guess the lesson is don;t use hotmail :)
