When is my year up?
« on: July 06, 2006, 07:53:07 pm »

I've had to reinstall XP many times. About a month ago, MC11 told me I installed for the tenth time
and that only 10 are allowed in a year.
My question is, How do I find out when a new 1 year clock starts?
I'm using Real Playerbecause I'm out of installs for MC.
Thanks

In the future, why not just use the 30 day trial period before restoring? Between the 30 day trial and the 2 week period in which the restore is valid, you should never run out of restores in a year.

But beyond that... why are you reinstalling XP so much?

I can't answer for the originator, but I have the fortune of working for a computer company so I get to take the leftovers home. That means when one computer can get replaced with a better one, another one comes home and I have to set it up which means installing MC again. I do try to time the installs within that 2 week period.

You're restores have now been cleared.  Remember that you used an earthlink.net address for your license.

Thanks.

To answer the original question: there is no fixed year. Any time you try to restore, it counts the number of restores in the past 365 days. So, you get 10 restores in any year period.

I'm betting you can't wait for the day when a MC library backup means everything and i mean all customisations stored in the backup.

Then it won't matter how many times you have to install MC a simple restore is all it would take to get back to where you were :)
