Add item to context menu?
« on: July 20, 2006, 05:38:01 pm »

I have written a basic Field Updater that adds new fields and gets the information from the net and fills it in.  What I wanted to do was add an item to the Library menu so that I can select files, right click, and select my plugin to run from the menu.  I have an interface for it, but it's really not necessary for the day to day operation.  Is it possible with MC to add items to any of the menus?

Is there any chance for this to happen ?

I would like to add an item in the context menu of any record and when selected, it will call my plugin with one of the record properties (artist...) as a parameter.

Sorry, but this isn't currently possible. (hence the silence)

However, it would be a nice thing to add in a future version.

if it was there should be a way to tell a user this is a 3rdparty plugin (maybe a color, and tool Text).

and when a 3rd party plug-in may be at fault when the plug-ins are removed by MC it should also remove the context menu item or mark it. maybe clicking on it at that point will tell you it had been deactivated and then take you to the plug-in manager to activate that 3rd party plugin, Or just simply ask the user if MC should activate it.
