Importing Images in 11.1.192
« on: August 12, 2006, 07:15:45 am »

When importing images the names of my folders do not get imported. Do I need to change my settings?

I don't think it can do that, you were probably looking for the folders to become album names?

It does give the pics default album names of the Date --  you can rename the album pretty easily to a good album name.

You can take 3 different Date albums and rename them to the same thing (i.e. Family Reunion Weekend), and then all will be combined into the same album

I'm looking to use Media Center as a Photo Viewer. On my PC in My Picture Folder I have sub folders named with my pictures inside. I can import the folders with photo but the folder names are missing.

Select the files you have imported.
Right click and select "fill properties from filename"
Click the file directory box (the top one) and type: [Album]
Click Ok

This assumes your directory structure uses *\Album

Thanks for the info. I found out part of my problem is me and the other problem is Photoshop Elements. Changes I made in Photshop does not get saved to the file  must get saved to Elements catalog. So when I imported to Media Center the old dates and names were imported not the new info. took me hours to fiquired this out. Thanks for your info.
